Tornillos?

So what exactly are Tornillos? This is somewhat of a lost art. More popular in the 30's and 40's, these were danced traditionaly to Son and Son Montunos. This was usually a way for the Man to show off and display his balance, strength and control of his movements for his partner or the people watching. Of course like most artforms it has resurfaced with some very modern twists. We will explore both the physicality and the musicality of Tornillos. We will teach classic tornillo poses as well as more modern tornillos, Ladies Tornillos and we will top it all off with some new Casino vueltas that include Tornillos in them.

4-week progressive workshop series

4 Wednesdays in May 8:30pm till 9:30 pm at Roccopulco: 3140 Mission st. San Francisco
